The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the February 11 to February 17 call reports.

4:54pm 2/11/2025 Animal Control Lake Leelanau, 6 year old golden retriever got under the porch and is stuck in the fence. Dog has been removed from under the porch. 

8:16pm 2/11/2025 Animal Control Elmwood Twp., Caller found a male husky without collar. Brown and white with blue eyes. Young intact. Can keep until morning.

8:08am 2/12/2025 Citizen Assist Empire Twp., Says a woman has her purse. Would like assistance getting it back. Determined that caller left her purse in her golf cart. It was recovered fully intact with nothing missing.

7:21pm 2/12/2025 OWI Glen Arbor Twp., Caller is a cleaner, there is a drunken lady who has bounced off the sign and is in the entrance. One in custody.

4:54pm 2/13/2025 Suspicious Incident Centerville Twp., Caller purchased vehicle from business three days ago via credit card. Receiving threatening phone calls because half of the payment is still pending. 

10:04pm 2/13/2025 Break/Enter Glen Arbor Twp., Caller is neighbor and checks on this home. Went into master bedroom where window screen was gone, some damage to vase and photos that were broken. 

8:44pm 2/14/2025 Suspicious Incident Glen Arbor Twp., Caller went out to her car from a restaurant and her car is not there. There is a similar vehicle in the lot. 

11:20pm 2/14/2025 Civil Leelanau Cty., Sold a Ford F250 vehicle to someone off marketplace “as is”. Told them it had issues and needed power steering fluid. The person backed it into a ditch and broke the truck. The person who bought it is now making threats to the caller if he doesn’t give the money back. Advised him that if he wants to get any money back he will have to go through civil court.

10:59am 2/15/2025 Lost Property Empire Twp., Bike taken from garage sometime within the last two weeks.

7:51pm 2/15/2025 Citizen Assist Kasson Twp., Trailer is filling up with water, needs someone to shut off water. This is beyond our scope, request dispatch to contact a plumber. 

10:23am 2/16/2025 Citizen Assist S West-Bay Shore Dr., Caller was assaulted and left by a sign. Walked north to get to Suttons Bay. 

10:01am 2/17/2025 Suspicious incident S West-Bay Shore Dr., Found two toy soldiers in bathroom that do not belong to her. Caller contacted everyone she thought it could be and it was not them. House was unlocked, nothing else out of place. 

2:40pm 2/17/2025 Neighbor Leelanau Cty., Trespassing subject. Subject had recently shoveled her driveway and on returning found a bunch of snow piled in her driveway.
