The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the February 5 to February 10 call reports.

9:14am 2/5/2025 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., Caller has questions about private plowing laws - there is a male who plows and pushes snow across the roadway and onto caller’s property, caller’s wife hits the chunks left in the road. 

3:02pm 2/5/2025 MDOP Leelanau Cty., Northwest side of the road caller has a boat and trailer for sale, someone shoved snow onto the clients property. Keeping his boat, boat is packed with snow but caller can’t tell if it is damaged, wants a report. He has been advised he should move it. 

2:37am 2/7/2025 Citizen Assist Suttons Bay Twp., Husband woke up and is delirious, caller went to the bathroom and when she came out he was gone and the car gone/ Spoke with husband, advised him that he is going to the hospital and that their vehicle is in the parking lot. Clear with no report.

11:53am 2/8/2025 Motor Assist Cedar, Waved down by a motorist, stating a welfare check situation. Will have an address in a moment. 

6:03pm 2/8/2025 Warrant Arrest Solon Twp., Called out by CO4119, subject was out on the lake fishing. Escorted him back to the Solon Township Park. Awaiting the arrival of 45-27.

11:54pm 2/8/2025 Suspicious Vehicle S West-Bay Shore Dr., 45-27 called out with suspicious vehicle at Speedway. Subject was just “relaxing” at Speedway, will be clear. 

9:50am 2/9/2025 Suspicious Incident Lake Leelanau, Caller in lobby, plow truck arrived at about 1:00am, he confronted the driver about possibly doing it at a different time. Driver became very aggressive, used his truck to almost hit him.

1:43pm 2/9/2025 Animal Control Suttons Bay Twp., Caller there for his storage, could hear noises, then heard dog barking inside. Caller standing by. Dog has been removed. 

8:28am 2/10/2025 Larceny Lake Leelanau, Caller believes one of his kids stole the keys, just wants the keys found, doesn’t want to charge anyone. He knows who has the keys, doesn’t want to make this a criminal report. Will follow up with caller on Wednesday.

5:08pm 2/10/2025 Suspicious Incident Lake Leelanau, Caller went into apartment to get dog and saw that there were two men in the apartment that he does not know and doesn’t think should be there.
