Property Watch: Cherry Farm On A Rare Mile-Long Parcel

By Emily Tyra | Jan. 29, 2021

Just listed this week, this orchard smack-dab in the heart of the county (East Pleasant Hill Road, Suttons Bay, $1,500,000) sits on a contiguous 184-acre parcel of forested hills and farmland. This property is home to a 62+ acre actively maintained orchard with over 7,000 healthy cherry trees. Listing agent Ann Marie Mitchell of Coldwell Banker Schmidt-Leland says this presently farmed and undivided parcel “is a legacy estate in the making.” It has potential as a vineyard, as well. She also notes that this large-format, mile-long property is zoned rural residential and has been approved by Bingham Township for a site condominium project of 78 residential units, 2+ acres each.
