Property Watch: A “Michigan Dream Home” For Christmas
Dec. 24, 2021
The Detroit News recently featured one of Leelanau County’s singular waterfront homes, (785 S. Wagon Wheel Drive, $4,000,000, MLS# 1889828), in its MI Dream Home column. Perhaps the Northport pad will make a very special Christmas gift for someone out there?
Among its unique features: The home actually has its own harbor.
Kimberly Bork, broker/owner at Venture Properties in Leland shares that property — set on 14 acres and 183 feet of Lake Michigan frontage — is one of only five private Great Lake harbors with a covered boat dock in the State of Michigan. Yep, that means one could park a small yacht right outside the front door.
Other highlights of the almost 7,500 square foot custom home: meandering verandas, patios, and decks overlooking the harbor and Grand Traverse Bay; a massive Michigan fieldstone fireplace; multiple main-floor suites; and a carriage house with a potting/gardening shed and an upstairs artist studio with its own sleeping quarters.
As Bork told the Detroit News, "Although the home is large, it has warmth that wraps around you like a comfortable blanket."
