The opening reception for the 30th annual Art Leelanau benefit art exhibition and sale takes place at the Old Art Building in Leland on Friday, July 22, from 5pm to 8:30 pm. The show highlights the work of over 100 artists with connections to Leelanau County and covers a range of mediums.
Proceeds support both the Leelanau Community Cultural Center’s general operations fund and the many artists who live full or part-time in Leelanau County. Leelanau Community Cultural Center (LCCC) — which oversees the OAB as a gathering place and hub of cultural events
The opening reception is a ticketed event with live music, a full bar, and heavy appetizers by Island Thyme Catering. The Old Art Building would like to thank Island Thyme, Tandem Ciders and French Valley Vineyards for their partnerships in the benefit.
“We have 105 registered artists showcasing art of Leelanau. It’s a big summer party and one of our biggest fundraisers. We support the artists, and they support us,” says Old Art Building executive director Becky Ross.
Tickets are available through the Old Art Building’s website or by calling the Old Art Building at 231-256-2131. Tickets will also be available at the door.
LCCC members who purchase tickets to this event will receive early access, offering the opportunity to view and purchase artwork one hour before other ticket holders. To join the LCCC membership program, visit https://www.oldartbuilding.com/membership/.
The exhibit will continue through Sunday, July 31, every day 11am to 3pm, and entrance will be free after the ticketed Friday night opening.

Starting Friday, fine art prints (18 x 24) of Howard’s artwork for Art Leelanau 2022 are available for purchase through the Old Art Building’s online store and at the Art Leelanau event.
