County Real Estate Sales Remain Steady
Oct. 14, 2024
There were 45 homes sold in Leelanau County last month for a total of $31,961,588. Those figures roughly mirror those of September 2023, when there were 44 homes sold for $33,756,313, though that resulting average of $767,188 bests the $710,257 average for this year. However, the median price of $570,000 last month is higher than that of September 2023, $514,500. Overall sales in the five-county area were down, owing mostly to a decrease of sales in Grand Traverse County, with Benzie up slightly and both Antrim and Kalkaska down slightly.
Year to date, there have been 275 homes sold in the county this year, roughly the same as the past two years of 273 and 277, respectively. All three of those totals are far below previous years, which peaked at 406 in 2021. The others are all near or above 300 dating back to 2013, when there were 198.
This year’s total sales volume of $223,006,168 yields an average sales price of $810,931, the highest on record. The median sales price of $570,000 lags just behind last year’s $575,000.
