The Leelanau Ticker is back with a look at the most alarming, offbeat, or otherwise newsworthy calls to the Leelanau Office of Emergency Management/911 dispatch. The following is excerpted from the April 15 to April 21 call reports.

7:49am 4/15/2025 Info Leelanau Cty., Toyota Tacoma reported to be driving too fast, blowing an airport and passing recklessly. Issue with this subject, northbound on M22.

10:57am 4/15/2025 Citizen Assist Suttons Bay Twp., Caller states she is getting an alert from her vehicle about an airtag but cannot locate it. This is an ongoing domestic/stalking issue.

8:20am 4/16/2025 Family Trouble Empire Twp., Nothing criminal happened. 

12:10pm 4/16/2025 Motor Vehicle Crash Cleveland Twp., Caller’s foot got stuck on the accelerator and crashed his vehicle in the ditch.

3:38pm 4/16/2025 Threats Empire Twp., Caller advising they are receiving threats from family. 

11:31am 4/17/2025 Road Hazard Leelanau Cty., Someone dumped what looks like oil on a private drive and would like to talk to someone about it.

1:57pm 4/17/2025 Citizen Assist Leelanau Cty., Trespassing on caller’s property, he has times and dates on Ring camera.

2:51pm 4/17/2025 Break Enter N West Bay Shore Dr., Individual broke into the backdoor of a residence and then left. 

12:03am 4/18/2025 Suspicious Vehicle Elmwood Twp., Called out checking on a couple vehicles near the Tart Trail. Both vehicles are unoccupied.

1:51pm 4/18/2025 Animal Control Leelanau Cty., Goats loose south of this intersection, east side of the road, not in roadway, 8-10 pygmy-sized goats.

8:08pm 4/18/2025 Suspicious Incident Lake Leelanau, Small male child walking along the side of the road, maybe 7 or 8, walking eastbound. 

12:35pm 4/19/2025 Animal Control Leelanau Twp., Caller got bit by a barn cat this morning. Concerned that it might be rabid. 

11:15am 4/20/2025 Animal Control Suttons Bay Twp., Walking their dog, says neighbor allows his dogs to run loose from his construction site. Today they ran after the caller all over the neighborhood. 

1:43am 4/21/2025 Traffic Stop N West Bay Shore Dr., Gentleman is out of the vehicle, open intox and firearms inside.

8:03am 4/21/2025 Animal Control S West-Bay Shore Dr., Lab or retriever mix, couldn’t tell if the dog had a collar. Laying in the ditch on the east side of M22. Didn’t look injured.
