SBPS Seeks Applicants For Vacant Board Of Education Seat
Suttons Bay Public Schools (SBPS) is looking to fill a vacancy on its school board.
From now through Monday, March 31, SBPS will be accepting applications from community members interested in serving on its board of education. Based on those applications, the board will appoint a new member to serve through the November 2025 general election.
To qualify for the position, candidates must be citizens of the United States and “qualified and registered electors of the school district.” Those interested in applying are invited to write a letter of interest, addressed to Board President Chris DeJong and SBPS Superintendent Casey Petz. Letters can be sent to the superintendent’s office, either via email (to petzc@suttonsbayschools.com) or snail mail (to P.O. Box 367, Suttons Bay, MI 49682).
The board will consider all applications received by the filing deadline of March 31, and will appoint a new member at a special meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 at 6pm.
