One Of Oklahoma’s Most Wanted Criminals Arrested In Leelanau County

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced Friday that the Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office had successfully apprehended one of that state’s most wanted criminals. According to Drummond’s office, the suspect, Nicholas Armando Roman, 20, “is accused of sexually touching a young girl in a March 4, 2022, incident in Oklahoma City.”

Last fall, Drummond launched a new campaign, called “Attorney General’s Most Wanted,” in hopes of capturing some of the Oklahoma's highest-profile fugitives.

“Drummond has partnered with the U.S. Marshals Service and other federal, tribal, state, county, and local law enforcement agencies to identify 10 Most Wanted fugitives and to work to hold them accountable for their actions,” an announcement of the program stated. “Individuals on the Most Wanted list pose serious threats to public safety.”

The initial list included suspects wanted for rape, murder, assault and battery, drug trafficking, and more. Drummond and his team have continued to add new names to the list as fugitives have been found and arrested. Roman marks the ninth fugitive arrested through the program, and was apprehended “days after he was added to the list,” per Drummond’s office.

According to a press release that announced Roman’s capture, investigators from the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office were able to determine the suspect had “relocated to Michigan,” where he had then “obtained a Michigan driver's license in October 2024.” The release also notes that Roman “was possibly employed at a construction company in Northport.”

Due to Roman’s presence in Leelanau County, Drummond’s office “coordinated with the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office…which successfully located and arrested Roman.”
